I went to Vegas with my family last week. We saw the Blue Man Group and the Mystere Cirque Du Soleil show. Blue men were awesome, Mystere was impressive but kinda fruity. I had $0 going into Vegas and came out with $28 and had a bunch of free drinks along the way. Nickel video poker ftw! While i'm obviously not a big gambler, I'd love to go back sometime with friends. Preferably w/ someone who knows their way around Vegas so I don't have to walk for miles in ~115 degree weather trying to find the way back to our hotel again.
We also went to Zion National Park in Utah and hiked through the Narrows. We hiked/waded ~4 miles upstream in a river at the base of a deep & narrow canyon. It's like THIS for miles.

Sup LJ... I'm not sure if anyone reads these anymore but I like reading my own entries (and your reaction to them)!
Spring quarter of my second year at UCSD ended up being a decent boost to my GPA. I also learned a lot of cool stuff (thanks to Nick mainly; our professors were kinda crappy). I've developed a decent amount of knowledge about the cognitive science field and I'm excited to get into the real "meat" of my major.
Summer has been so lazy... I've seen a few friends, gone out a few times, but most of my time has been spent sleeping in and messing around on the computer late into the night. This lazy routine has become quite boring but luckily I'm moving back to San Diego this Sunday. While I'm happy to be getting out of Simi, having an apartment means having to find a job to pay for rent/ food etc. If anyone has any good ideas for good temp. jobs, let me know please! Any part time job stories would be appreciated :P
Most excitingly, Kay is coming down tomorrow morning. I miss that girl terribly.

Cogs 107c is probably the most intensive/complicated class I've taken in college so far. That said, I kicked the crap out of my first midterm :D As for my other three classes, I have no clue how I'm doing and don't especially care.
As an update: My piercing seems to be healing very well. Kay and I have been together for 4 months now and I'm quite happy with the way things are going. I think I'm gaining weight, but foodworx (the closest dining facility and my current place of employment) seems to only offer things that make me fat.
I miss a lot of you guys and would love to have visitors...
Happy birthday Chris!

It's been a while and I know you're all dying to know what's going on in my fascinating life.
Today is the monthiversary of my courtship with Kay. I'm still totally crazy about this girl.
More importantly:
By the way, Kay kicks my ass at minesweeper.
Completely unrelated thoughts:
☼ Midterms are over and I'm not stressed out over my performance on them ☼ My RA says our apartment isn't involved enough and so we have to host a dinner party for our building. How stupid is that. I told her straight up that I wasn't interested in being involved but apparently that's not an acceptable answer. (she really isn't forcing us, the other guys sorta volunteered to appease her desperate plea) ☼ House MD is a pretty rad show.

I'm sick. My nose is all red and sore from tissues and because I've been coughing so much, my voice is really nasty/raspy. I had to miss work last Wednesday and will have to take off all this week too. I'm worried that I'll get fired. I went into the dining hall where I work today and talked to the supervisor about what I needed to do in order to get my shifts covered and she acted all angry with me. Would you want a guy sneezing and wheezing all over your sandwich (even if he was ridiculously good looking)?
My X-box is broken and even Chrispy couldn't figure out what's wrong with it. VERY disappointing stuff considering how amazing my X-box was... ::sigh::
I need to study for finals but I can't find the motivation to do so. Second midterms are over and I need to pull off some good scores on these finals. School has really been getting me down. As much as I try to ignore it, I feel like college might not have been the best choice for me. I love UCSD. The location and professors are great. I think college doesn't work out well for people who don't have a set path on what they want to do with their lives. The amount money(loans) and work that I've put into UCSD doesn't seem to warrant the huge amounts of stress and loneliness that I've experienced while here. Sure I've learned quite a few things and probably matured as a person, but I'm not still not seeing an independent future for myself. I'm almost twenty years old and there's still so little stability in my life.

Eddie and Alex went home for the weekend so I've gotta entertain myself for the next few days. Shouldn't be too big of a problem, I just need some sort of motivation to keep me off of the computer. I'm not really sure what to do when there's no one around to entertain me. Maybe Riley has some ideas. I really don't want this weekend to contain solely of me playing Warcraft and Dr. Mario.
I finally assembled my rasterbations. You are so jealous.

Thanks again for these, Chris!

Chris brought me a few rasterbations that I cut out but still need to assemble. Pictures will ensue as soon as said assembly is complete!
And to finish off this terrible entry, I have a new background on my computer! Doug!

My wisdom teeth are out and my mouth is healing up pretty well. I've got big holes back where the teeth used to be but the pain is slowly going away.
I'm still trying to lose weight. I've cut down on junk all together and have only had big meals when i've gone out to eat with friends so I guess i'm doing decent with this diet thing. I need the motivation of cafeteria food to quit eating so much.
Summer is over and I move into my apartment on saturday morning. I'm just realizing i'm going to have to work when i go back to school... craptastic =/ I'm working at Food Worx. (the closest cafeteria to my apartment) i've got my new mailbox address and if anyone wants it i'll give it to you (comment). I love getting mail! :D Maybe i should get a penpal! that would be neat.

This summer has been widely uneventful but relaxing. My parents call me lazy. The way I see it, when there's nothing I'm supposed to be doing, I don't see why I shouldn't sleep all day.
Last thursday I went to the dentist and got a few fillings. No big deal but this coming thursday I'm getting my wisdom teeth yanked. I'm actually thinking it will be a good thing. I've been eating terribly lately and have been meaning to start a water diet. After having my wisdom teeth taken out and my mouth is aching super bad, I don't think I'll want to eat much :)
I'm really glad I've been keeping this journal. I read back over my entries from last school year and I was reminded of so many things that I had completely forgotten about. Good times, bad times... I've learned a lot and I'd like to think I've matured a little bit. Something I realized after reading through my journal... I have the coolest friends ever. You guys are amazing and always pick me up when I'm not doing so well. Thank you all so much! I love you guys.
( norcal pictures! )
btw, SHANNON! Because I didn't get to see you this summer, you need to come down and visit me at school. We'll make plans for this later :)

Since I found out that people actually read this thing, I figured I'd make a bit more of an effort to update periodically. I'm not promising anything, but I'll try.
So wednesday night, Eddie drove us up to Lafayette. I stayed with Nick (my buddy who lived in the dorm next door last year) in his awesomely big house. Eddie stayed at his girlfriend's house in San Jose. Nick and I hung out with some of his friends and he showed me around Lafayette. Friday evening we drove down and hung out with Nick's girlfriend Maria. That was fun... I knew her family was italian, but they're hardcore. her mom spoke only in italian and it made me kind of paranoid. That evening, we met back up with Eddie at Thien's house for her birthday party. It was very asian... I think that's all I have to say about that. Saturday Nick, Eddie, Thien, and I went into San Fransisco on BART. BART is neat! First we went to the little Mexico area of SF, then we went to Embarcadero St. and walked into the middle of the filming of some new Will Smith movie. They closed down a pretty decent chunk of street in downtown SF for this thing and we didnt' even get to see Will... totally lame. So we walked to China town and got souvenirs.
Yeah, so I actually got out of the house and did something. Pretty exciting for me even if it doesn't seem like it to you :P
Shea pretty much scarred me for life tonight! Let's just say, if you also want to be scarred for life, google: "mrhands.mpg". It's on par with/worse than eel soup. (If you don't know what that is, think tubgirl times... twenty.)
That's all for now. Again, I really don't suggest looking up mrhands (or eel soup ) BUT IF YOU DID: Post a comment :)
